"How to Dress for Your Sign"
by Marissa Meltzer

October 5, 2003: Ophira and Tali Edut, identical twins and co-authors of "Astrostyle: Star Studded Advice for Love, Life, and Looking Good" (Fireside; $12) have made it their mission to bring some glamour to astrology. The 30-year-old New Yorkers say they can tell a person's sign on sight and use astrology to predict the future - as well as what look they should be working. So we asked Ophira to evaluate the look and style of four girls, and make them over based on their star signs. Here are the results:

Brigid Boyle
Age: 22
Assistant at a software company

BEFORE: In calf-length pants, a white T and a denim jacket - and her hair in a ponytail - Brigid seems to be the opposite of her sign, which is obsessed with appearance. But she does admit that "I have to feel good about how I look to go out. I tend to be casual, but my appearance affects me."

OPHIRA SAYS: "Punk rock girls are often Libras, like Gwen Stefani, but they have feminine sides. Take off your black eyeliner and try something softer." As for clothes, "Libra rules pastels. And your sign can wear designer clothes."

AFTER: Brigid is made over in pastel pink lips and soft green eyeliner. She tries a designer miniskirt and flats with a pink top to play up her complexion.

VERDICT: "I feel like a girl at the country club, but I like it, " Brigid laughs. "I'm going to go buy some green eyeliner now."
