Horoscope:
Sagittarius (November 23-December 21)
September 2008
Hallelujah! On September 7, your ruling planet, Jupiter, finally wakes up from a long summer nap. Since June, Jupiter has been in a low-power “retrograde” position, in your second house of money and self-worth. While this may have brought in some past-due funds, it hasn’t exactly paved the road to riches, either. Chances are, you’ve spent your dollars as quickly as you made them. Those little extras and indulgences you adore? Not an option like before.
On the upside, you may have learned a valuable lesson about budgeting and overspending (a common habit for your sign) during this cycle. It wasn’t all for naught! If you were a “retail therapy” offender, you may have found other ways to boost your self-esteem that didn’t involve whipping out a charge card. Self-care became more than a good idea; it was essential to keep your engine running.
If you’ve been itching to upgrade your wardrobe or home decor, Jupiter’s move into direct (forward) motion helps you afford some improvements. The second house impacts your daily environment, so go ahead and add those window treatments, invest in a painting, or buy a new Fall handbag. With the Virgo Sun urging a more polished, sophisticated image, look for a few “grown-up” staples to balance the artsy or kitschy pieces.
Pluto, planet of deep transformation, has also been retrograde this summer in Sagittarius, sending you back to the drawing board. In short order, you may have re-crafted your image, even reinvented your entire lifestyle! The overhaul has been worth the effort, but it hasn’t been easy. On September 9, Pluto goes direct, lifting another burden from your shoulders. Now, you can unleash the new, improved you on an appreciative audience. On November 27, Pluto leaves Sagittarius, never to return in your lifetime. Take the next couple months to get your name in lights!
As life improves, you’ll have plenty of chances to celebrate. From September 1-18, thoughtful Mercury, passionate Mars and romantic Venus all tour your eleventh house of groups and friends. You’ll work hard and play hard in September, which is just the way you like it. Teamwork pays off big-time now, too. The more you share your crayons, the more you’ll prosper, so give up that rugged individualist thing already! As a bonus, you’ll have more personal time—and you’ll want it. Party invitations should pour in, and everyone wants to have drinks or dinner. With Venus playing Cupid, a friendship could even blossom into full-on romance.
The eleventh house also rules technology, so a project involving television, radio or the Internet is favored. If you’re an entrepreneur like many Sagittarians, why not launch a website to highlight what you do? Humanitarian efforts and non-profit projects also get a boost. If you’re involved in a social cause, spread the word with an e-mail blast, even a fundraising event. It can be as simple as a night of cocktails and karaoke—just bring together your multitude of contacts and you’ll have more donations than you imagined!
If you’re launching a website, do so before Mercury goes retrograde from September 24-October 15. Mercury retrograde can cause technology glitches and miscommunications. Postpone any big group events if possible; otherwise, double-check all details to avoid Mercury mischief. Mercury retrograde also brings back people from our past. A slew of old friends could track you down in late September, or you might seek them out through Facebook or other means. It’s a great time for getting back in touch, Sagittarius.
Family reunions are highlighted, too, at the September 15 full moon in your fourth house of home and family. If you’ve had “mama drama,” it could come on full-force now. Take this moment to clear the air with your mom or a significant female, or just to spend some quality female bonding time. If you’re buying or improving your home, this Moon gives you a burst of “nesting” energy. Host an impromptu dinner party for friends and family, or do that turbo cleanup you’ve been talking about for so long. Think of it as revamping your foundation. When that’s strong, you can build anything!
