MONTHLY
OVERVIEW:
Slow…down…Libra. The Sun is in Virgo, your sleepy twelfth
house, for the first three weeks of September. It’s your annual rest period
before your birthday, a time to tie up loose ends and turn inward. And let’s
not even talk about August: seven planets (three in your sign) formed a rare “cardinal
cross,” throwing life into a tailspin. You were routinely yanked between
relationships, personal needs, family, and work—without the benefit of
a cape, an invisible jet, or superhuman powers. Throw in the five retrograde
(backward) planets, and it’s a wonder you could make even the simplest
decision.
Given the choice, you’d gladly hit the snooze button and wake up September 22nd, when the Sun enters Libra and your solar calendar resets. Things certainly get easier from there. With structured Saturn in Libra for the next two years, you’re on a slow-but-steady reinvention tour. From November 2009 until this April, you got a glimpse of this higher calling, when Saturn briefly entered your sign. Now that the wise-but-tough old teacher is here until October 2012, you’re building your next major life chapter, brick by brick.
Although much of the journey will demand “inner work” and self-reflection,
you need not go it all alone. The September 23rd Aries full moon in your
partnership sector reminds you to appreciate your supporters. This moon brings
an opportunity to team up personally or professionally, perhaps even a plum
contract. Don’t be limited by your insecurities or a desire to stay
in a familiar comfort zone. A calculated risk can take your life to a new
level.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
Your love life is active in September. Romantic Venus (your ruler) is in
Libra until the 9th, and sexy Mars remains in your sign until the 14th.
You’re feeling flirty and bold, willing to make the first move. Will
it be with a newcomer, or someone from your past? Loneliness is no reason
to troll through your dating archives; get out there and mingle! With Mercury
retrograde until September 14th, however, don’t be surprised if an
old flame comes smooth talking back into your life. Although you’re
receptive to his/her charms, don’t gloss over red flags or old issues.
Have the tough talks to see if you can heal or resolve sticking points.
Willingness is half the battle. Two old dogs will only learn new tricks
if they submit to some hardcore, Cesar-Milan style retraining.
Coupled Libras may need to be that “shoulder to cry on” when your partner goes through a challenging period. Although you feel the scales tip unevenly (with you giving more), you’ll grow spiritually from making a generous, short-term sacrifice. Stop keeping score, Libra. Your mate has bent over backward to accommodate you. In the second half of September, Venus and Mars are in Scorpio, your stabilizing second house. Improve the quality of together time. Make the effort to dress up, plan special dates, and appreciate the little things—like your partner unloading the dishwasher or buying your favorite brand of soap. It all counts!
On September 23rd, the Aries full moon illuminates your committed relationship
sector. A budding romance could become official. Coupled Libras may decide
to start a family, get married, or possibly part ways. This moon forms a
tense angle to Pluto in your home and family sector. You may realize that
you’ve grown overly dependent on your mate and need to assume more
of your own “care and feeding” duties. Volunteer to handle more
of the everyday responsibilities, and you’ll feel the partnership become
more balanced.
MONEY & CAREER:
The Sun is in Virgo, your twelfth house of endings, until the 22nd. Tie up
loose ends before charging into new ventures, and clear the decks of lingering
projects. After the 9th, you could make some great business connections
socially when your ruler Venus enters Scorpio, your finance house. Money
stress can flare when Mars enters Scorpio on the 14th, but consider it
a planetary push to be more forthcoming and assertive, and to reign in
spending.
On September 9th, expansive Jupiter backs into Pisces, your sixth house of service and organization. Bring the crisp, starched edges back to your life. Be on time, honor commitments, and “do unto others.” Take a page from Woody Allen, who says that 90 percent of life is just showing up. With structured Saturn camped in Libra until October 2012, your self-respect grows by simply keeping your word. Expansive Jupiter remains in Pisces for the rest of the year, traveling in tandem with revolutionary Uranus. Work that serves humanity and heals the planet calls to you now. It’s not too early to plan a holiday fundraiser or to suggest a day of service instead of the usual gift exchange. Jobs in the environmental sector, service industry, or healthcare could offer a deeper shade of “green.”
The September 23rd Aries full moon could bring a partnership offer—with
a twist. This moon will square off with transformational Pluto in your domestic
sector. You may have to relocate, change your living situation, or shift
your home life to accommodate the terms of this deal. Perhaps you’ve
been blurring the personal and professional boundaries at the office. Although
it’s great to feel that warm, familial glow with coworkers, it also
creates an uncomfortable, even inappropriate, dynamic. Cut back on bartering,
back-scratching and other ways of currying favor in hopes that you won’t
be held accountable for your work. Just do your job as it’s designed
to be done. Emotional manipulation and temporary shortcuts could come back
to bite you.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
Give your health a radical overhaul for the rest of this year. On September
9th, expansive Jupiter backs into Pisces, your well-being sector, pushing
you to try new foods, workouts, and methods of prevention. For the rest
of the year, both Jupiter and futuristic Uranus travel together in Pisces,
opening your mind to progressive methods and modalities. (Yoga retreat
or silent meditation, anyone?) You could become interested in local growers,
sustainable farming, or join a food co-op. Because Jupiter is the international
planet, you may also explore longevity secrets from other countries and
cultures. Jupiter and Uranus form an exact conjunction on September 18th,
a day that could be a wakeup call for better health. You might even get
involved in healthcare reform or organize a community wellness day. Be
cautious about prescriptions and pharmaceuticals now—make sure to
read up on the side effects of any drugs before you try them.
Family matters have been challenging for many Libras since April, when Pluto went retrograde in your domestic sector. On September 14th, Pluto resumes direct (forward) motion, making it easier to instate changes on the home front. Subtle power struggles with a female relative ease up. If you’ve been thinking of moving, real estate ventures are favorable in the second half of the month. However, it won’t be easy to give up the emotional ties to your home. Even if you’ve outgrown the space, change can feel like a loss. Respect your emotions; do a farewell ritual to honor the space or make a list of all the ways you’ve grown since living there.
