It’s your defining moment! August begins at the breathless, dramatic pace that Leos crave. On August 1, a New Moon solar eclipse falls in Leo. (Yes, it’s as exciting as it sounds.) New Moons mark beginnings, and an eclipse is like the shot fired at the start of a race…on your marks, get set, GO! Since this is a “total eclipse,” its power will be triple-strength.
What exactly should you be ready for, Leo? Only a total life reinvention. No biggie, right? Jokes aside, you’ve been gearing up for this for quite some time, Leo. A grand idea that’s been brewing for months, possibly years, could find its launch pad now. Or, life circumstances could find you on a solo path, and surprisingly well-prepared to shoot off into your own personal stratosphere. If you’ve been biting your tongue or playing backseat role at work, you’ll barely be able to tolerate another second as the low man on the totem pole. Leo, you were born to rule. Rise up!
Two weeks later on August 16, a second eclipse rounds it all out. This one is a Full Moon eclipse between Leo and Aquarius. It’s a day of reckoning between you and a partner. All that bold self-esteem that got shot into your veins August 1? It brewed a confidence cocktail that a few folks can’t seem to digest. If they liked you meek and mousey, they’re about to hear the Lion roar.
Full Moons bring matters to a close, and this “partial eclipse” could phase someone important out of your life, or at least, into a different role. Power dynamics will shift, that’s for sure. A relationship that no longer empowers you may come to a close. (We await breaking news of Leo Madonna’s marriage with Virgo Guy Richie. Personally, we’re sick of “sad Madge.” Bring back the Material Girl! Okay, we digress…)
Other possible outcomes of these eclipses? A promotion, a new job, a lovely contract, a marriage proposal. All good things that you’re more than ready for, Leo.
Now that you’re feeling like a brand new person, it’s time to create a life that matches. Let’s start with your money. In August, five planets travel through Virgo, your second house of finance, material security and self-esteem. Leo, you’re not big on the “B” word (budget). There always seems to be another extravagance or treat that you “deserve,” another friend to lavish with expensive gifts, another pair of shoes you can’t live without.
We know—we’ve been lecturing you about this for a while. But seriously? It’s time to grow up. As our Libra grandfather said, “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” (To which we’d argue that yes it DOES because it’s made out of paper, and paper comes from wood…oh, never mind.) You’re a great attractor of abundance, Leo, and you always will be. But if you consume your resources as quickly as they come in, where does that get you?
Right where you find yourself today, which is at the start of your next big adventure. Wouldn’t you love to leave debt, overspending, and not really understanding your finances behind? Isn’t it time to stop undervaluing yourself and all you do? Your skills and accomplishments are as good as money in the bank, but if you fail to acknowledge all you’ve done, you might as well light a fifty-dollar bill on fire. Cast these old ways off like a cheap suit, and the eclipse will zap those habits off into the cosmic ether. The week of August 4-11, a little shakeup in your family or property matters, courtesy of a Mars-Uranus opposition, could force you to stop procrastinating. Paycheck to paycheck isn’t a lifestyle you want anymore—and you may need to compensate for a bad investment or economic downturn. Don’t worry; you can.
Leo, it’s time for you to get intimately acquainted with how money works—and to make yours work for you. Be courageous. Ask yourself: is there any part of my financial life that I don’t completely understand, or feel like I control? Am I saving enough for retirement, college funds, other long-term planning? Instead of avoiding it, dive in and learn. Leo, when you put your mind to it, you can master anything.
The good news is, you’ll have lots of people you can ask. On August 20, assertive Mars goes into Libra, your third house of communication. Assert yourself boldly. Write letters of appeal, line up coffee dates with mentors and financial pros, send out resumes, ask for a raise. Books and study are especially favorable, as the third house also rules schools and information. It’s a great time to try financial planning software like Quicken, too. If you’re raising funds for a project or non-profit, make a passionate case for yourself now.
When a New Moon falls in your second house of finance on August 30, you’ll see the seeds of your effort begin to blossom. And you could be outright amazed by how “solid” and grounded you feel. Yes, it’s only been a month since the eclipse. But they say it takes a mere 21 days to make a habit. So get started, pronto.
