MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
It’s been a challenging year for many Fish, but this month, things are looking up. In November, the Sun and several planets tour your inspirational ninth house, bringing you unexpected luck and opportunity. The real improvement, though, is your mindset. While 2009’s circumstances have ranged from irritating to full-on depressing, you feel a surge of hope now. Seize it, no matter how your life looks on the outside. As the saying goes, it's better to be an optimist and be proved a fool, then to be a pessimist and be proven right.

On the 4th, your ruling planet Neptune ends a five-month retrograde (backward) spin. During this cycle, old habits, subconscious pain or addictive tendencies may have resurfaced. Your energy was more internal than ever, and life took on a karmic quality. Though Neptune retrograde helped creative and healing projects, it stalled important life decisions. Concrete ideas were tough to manifest, and goals got snarled in red tape.

Now, you can move forward—and devise new ideas, too. The full moon on November 2nd delivers an “a-ha” moment. Don’t let your inner critic shoot it down. Allow yourself to dream, and journal whatever comes to mind. It doesn’t have to make perfect sense right now. On the 21st, the Sun moves into Sagittarius, your career sector. You’ll have a golden month to stack the deck for 2010 in your favor.

LOVE & ROMANCE:
Free at last! On October 29th, restrictive Saturn ended a two-year journey through Virgo, your commitment sector. Saturn is the planet of maturity and hard-earned lessons. While some Pisces entered super-serious relationships, those still weathered obstacles like long distance, a busy work schedule, or recession-crunched funds. Since September 2007, Saturn has been opposite your Sun, one of the most challenging positions for these two planets. (Picture two cowboys in a shooting standoff.) Your job was to be yourself, nakedly honest and direct.

Pisces, you’ve been in romantic boot camp. What did you learn? If you’re the martyr type, you probably had to ask a partner for what you need. If you play the coquettish femme fatale, you had to grow a pair and express your needs directly. For the serial monogamist Pisces, there was no more flowing from one long-term relationship into the next without doing your inner homework. Don’t you feel stronger from it all?

Although the journey is easier from here, there’s more to learn. Saturn is now in your eighth house of intimacy, sex and joint resources until October 2012. No more running to your hiding place when you feel vulnerable or exposed. Life with partners could feel too close for comfort—but consider that an opportunity to learn exactly where your trigger points are, and to work on those. (Therapy can be immensely helpful now.) Cohabitation, marriage or pregnancy are strongly possible during this cycle, and all will take some character-building work. Tough it out and watch your life transform. As long as you don’t expect love to be easy, you can embrace Saturn’s wise lessons.

MONEY & CAREER:
The Sun travels through Scorpio, your worldly, visionary ninth house until the 21st. Your competitive edge could use a little sharpening, so get creative. Launch a blog or website that captures your je ne sais quoi. If you’re job prospecting, cast a wide net: you might even consider relocating for work. Plan a trip to a few interesting cities and scope out the scene. When expansive Jupiter enters Pisces in January, you’ll begin a new 12-year life cycle. Might as well put the feelers out now. On the 21st, the Sun begins a month-long tour of your career sector.  Don’t slow down for the holidays—strike while the iron is hot.

For the long-term, it’s time to grow up around financial planning. Strict Saturn is visiting your eighth house of joint assets, real estate and investments until October 2012. Saturn teaches you to face obstacles and persevere through slow, steady work. Be cautious about sharing money with a mate during this cycle, and make sure you’re putting away funds for your future. You could inherit money or property, or earn a windfall for your own creations. If you do, head straight to a certified planner (check her credentials and references) and invest it wisely.

You may need to deal with legal contracts or settlements from a divorce or lawsuit. You could also earn passive income from a website (think Google Ads) or online sales. Think about ways to make your money work for you, but avoid get-rich-quick schemes. Network marketing companies may sound enticing, but they usually require tons of work, so steer clear of these.

HEALTH & FITNESS:
Motivational Mars is visiting your health sector for an unusually long nine months. Until June 2010, you’re revved up to get in shape like never before. Take a whole-life approach and tackle your eating, sleeping and exercise habits to design a lifestyle that nurtures you to the core. In other words, don’t cap off a Bikram yoga sweatfest with Diet Coke and cheese curls.

Cautious Saturn is in your eighth house of internal health until October 2012. It’s a good time for X-Rays and other screenings (mammograms, colonoscopies, whatever is recommended for your age group). An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you’re planning surgery, get a second opinion. Cosmetic procedures in particular should be reconsidered or postponed. The eighth house rules the reproductive system, and aspiring Pisces moms could have pregnancy challenges. Talk to your OB-GYN, as much of this could be linked to subconscious fear or anxiety. If you’re tired, check your iron levels. You could be deficient or anemic with Saturn in the 8th. Eat dark leafy greens like Swiss chard and kale, and try iron-fortified supplements.
