Horoscope:
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
November 2008
Your power returns! For the last five months two major planets—Neptune and Uranus—have been making life a confusing fog for many Aquarians. That’s because they’ve both been retrograde (backward), jumbling up everything under their jurisdiction. This has hit you hardest, since Uranus is your ruling planet and Neptune is in your sign. You may have felt like you were wading through muck trying to accomplish anything, or unfinished business could have delayed plans.
On November 2, Neptune goes direct (forward) in Aquarius. Watery Neptune is the planet of fantasy and illusions; retrograde in your sign, it’s like walking through a hall of mirrors. You could have battled self-doubt and old insecurity, dealt with endless red tape, or been unsure about what direction to take. Other people may have placed demands on you that were downright draining, and you had little choice but to make the sacrifice.
On the other hand, Neptune can have a powerful healing or mystical force. Since retrogrades turn our attention back to the past, you may have been able to put old worries or issues to bed during this cycle. If you felt you were being taken advantage of, even sabotaged, you may have had to deal with an important rival. It’s been hard to tell who has your back, but now, that should become much clearer.
Your domestic life comes into focus mid-month, when a full moon lights up your fourth house of home and family. The nesting urge hits hard, so if you haven’t spent quality time with your loved ones—especially your mom—it’s a great day to reconnect. A burst of insight, and perhaps a few strong emotions, could flare up with a powerful female. Let it out, Aquarius, and clear the air. If your home is as chaotic as your mindstate has been for the last few months, roll up your sleeves and get your house in order. Rearrange furniture, donate unwanted items to charity, and make your nest a reflection of your sound mind.
On the 28th, your ruler Uranus goes direct, bringing back your innovative edge. Uranus is in Pisces and your financial sector. It’s the planet of sudden change and revolution, which might be exciting in some areas of life, but when it comes to cashflow, you could do with a few less surprises! While you may have revamped the way you make money, even returning to an old job, you may have had to work twice as hard to make half as much.
The upside is that this Uranus retrograde cycle forced you to go back and really question what matters to you—what you value in terms of how you spend your time and hard-earned cash. “Is it worth it?” is a question that you might have probed at a deeper level than ever. When Uranus goes direct on the 28th, you’re free to launch any cutting-edge projects and move forward in a solid, focused direction. Whew! This year has not been easy, Aquarius.
Your professional life also gets a boost during the first three weeks of November, thanks to Mercury, Mars and the Sun in your tenth house of career and leadership. Motivator Mars is here from October 5-November 16, revving up your energy to close the deal and take charge. After that, you’ll get to do one of your favorite things: networking. Mars visits your Aquarius-ruled eleventh house of group activity from November 17-December 28. The rest of 2008 promises to be social—and socially conscious. Say “yes” to fundraising events, holiday parties for a cause and well-selected end of the year donations (hello, tax writeoff). Not only will these remind you what’s truly important to your humanitarian soul, but you could meet some dynamic players who will be great connections in 2009. The November 27 new moon is an especially important day to mix and mingle.
Does it seem like the end of November is packed with activity? It is! Also on the 27th, transformational Pluto ends a 13-year cycle in your eleventh house. Pluto rules deep inner transformation, and in your sector of friendships, groups, and social activity, you may have gone through many intense cycles here. Group dynamics are hard enough to navigate, but you’ve learned some important lessons—often the hard way—about the correct balance of power among people. Like it or not, the company you keep is a reflection on you. Aquarius, you may have had to leave a few volatile or dominating people behind since 1995, a choice that wasn’t easy. In the process, you may have found your own voice—a world-changing, mighty one!
A great example is Aquarius Oprah Winfrey, who completely revolutionized her daytime talk show during this cycle. She moved from a more tabloid format into a softer approach that powerfully dealt with human issues at the core. In 200, she also founded a magazine based on the same principles, sharing her own deep transformation with people worldwide. That’s Pluto—like an earthquake, it shakes things up at the deepest level, destroying structures that no longer serve us in order to heal and shift the culture.
Speaking of healing, on November 27, Pluto moves into your twelfth house of healing, art and mysticism, staying until 2023. You’re poised to become a true champion of the oppressed now, a voice for the silenced. However you do that—whether with humor or heart—focus on making a difference for people who need it. You can’t go wrong when you put that first. The restorative power of art will transform your life at a soul level, too. Dancing, singing, painting, writing, theater…whatever your creative outlet, explore this deeply in the next chapter of your life.
One note of caution: you will need to be vigilant about hidden agendas during this 15-year cycle, Aquarius, as the twelfth house can cleverly hide the full story from you. Be a little more cautious about whom you trust. Your protection? Setting up boundaries and knowing your own worth. It’s time to be much more assertive about that Aquarius, or you could face painful lessons and people who take advantage of your kindness. With the twelfth house’s mystical force, you could even find yourself becoming psychic or highly intuitive, channeling incredible creativity. And why not? The more you tune in to people and the universe, the more of an impact you can make.
