Monthly Horoscope:

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

MAY 2008

Speak up, Pisces! May highlights communication for you. Your ideas are valuable, so don’t hide them away from the world. Let people know what you think. You’ve got their ear now. Don’t hold back what you’re dying to express.

On May 3, a New Moon falls in your third house of communication, joining forces with romantic Venus. A friendship could blossom into romance, Pisces. This year has brought an important expansion of your inner circle, with lucky Jupiter in your eleventh house of friendship and humanity. If you’ve gotten involved in a cause or volunteer project, you could find love among the ranks.

Here in New York City, a savvy woman created Cause and Effect Dating, a matchmaking service that links people based on common interests, then sends them on a date where they do a community service project together. Although there may not be anything like this in your area, you could take inspiration from this idea!

The third house also rules books, writing and new media. Attend a lecture, reading or author appearance—or kick off a writing project yourself, Pisces. If you work with your hands, your craftiness will get a boost, so pick up a hobby like knitting, jewelry-making or anything else your creative mind dreams up. If you play an instrument, spend time on musical pursuits, too.

Relationships take center stage this month, too. Pisces, in the last eight months, your love life has posed an interesting series of obstacles and opportunities to grow. This is courtesy of heavyweight Saturn in your seventh house of committed relationships. Saturn has been here since September 2007 and will stay through October 2009. Your approach to partnership is maturing in a slow, sometimes challenging way.

For some Pisces, a relationship hit the skids big-time, possibly even leading to a breakup or separation. You might have taken a few giant steps back to make sure you were building on a solid foundation. Pisces, you have a habit of ignoring red flags and glossing over issues. This is partly because you’re a dreamy-eyed romantic, and partly because you simply don’t want to deal. Saturn is forcing you to curb your avoidance tendencies and grow up. It’s time to be in a healthy, equal partnership with a fair balance of power.

Other Pisces may have found love on a far more serious level than ever before. Saturn’s energy can be felt in the form of delays. Perhaps you’ve met the person of your dreams, but circumstances like geography or demanding work schedules keep you apart. This is perfect for you, actually. Instead of getting swept away, you can build something real, one brick at a time.

Saturn has been retrograde (backward) since December, making your love life move at a snail’s pace. On May 3, Saturn returns to direct (forward) motion, helping you move forward a bit faster now. You could receive a marriage proposal, pop the question or move your relationship up to the next level of commitment.

If you haven’t found love yet, don’t worry. There are so many opportunities for your own exciting expansion this year, Pisces—especially at the May 19 Full Moon. A chance to travel, start your own business, lecture, teach or study could pop up out of the blue. Caution: your ruling planet Neptune will be at odds with this Moon, tempting you to keep things vague rather than commit. Snap out of it. Don’t sabotage the opportunity to expand your horizons. Watch what you say around this Full Moon, too. You tend to downplay your strengths or make self-deprecating jokes about yourself. This is not the time to put yourself down, Pisces. Sell yourself like the amazing catch that you are!

Later in the month, old friends or groups can guide your path to success. Attend an event for an alumni association or a party hosted by people from your past. Female friends figure in prominently after May 26, when Mercury goes retrograde (backward) for a month. This retrograde falls in your domestic and family sector, so it could also be a great time to renovate your home, visit your hometown or spend quality time with your mom. What better timing for the Memorial Day holiday? Just be sure to book your travel plans early. Mercury retrograde can cause unforeseen snags, so a little prevention will help make this a smooth, happy reunion.
