Horoscope:
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
March 2009
March gets off to an active, social start. With the Pisces Sun lighting up your eleventh house of group activity, it’s all about expanding your circle and making connections now. Group projects are favored, and with lucky Jupiter in your success sector, you’re the one to lead everyone to victory. This energy is strongest in the first two weeks of March.
If you don’t have an updated set of business cards, get some printed fast. Taurus, you’re sure to meet some fascinating characters, and you’ll want to keep in touch. Instead of working overtime, attend parties, dinners and events where you’ll meet the “who’s-who” of your chosen field.
Technology is your friend when it comes to networking, too. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or a personal blog are perfect tools to help you nurture ties with friends and contacts this month. Investing 20-30 minutes a day to comment on a friend’s status, post an update, or connect two like-minded people will pay off in spades. Don’t get caught in “work-horse” mode and dismiss social networking as a time-waster. This year, it’s all about whom you know.
On that note, there could be a bad apple or two bobbing up to the surface. Yes, Taurus, it’s time to clear your life of any lurking “energy vampires.” This theme began in early February and lasts until June. Venus, planet of love and harmony, is taking an unusually long stay in Aries, your twelfth house of healing, closure and hidden agendas.
On March 6, love-planet Venus goes retrograde (backward) for six weeks. Retrogrades cause extra bumps in the road, and can bring back people from our past. During this cycle, drama with an ex could resurface, or somebody who’s up to no good may make an unwelcome return.
Why? Apparently, these bad-news bears feel that the door is still a tiny bit open with you. They may have a mix of hope, anger and resentment—and they’re directing it at you rather than dealing with their own pain. Unfortunately, there are people in this world who lack self-awareness, and they get a false sense of power from pushing your buttons.
Taurus, this is not your problem to solve. Right now, you need to distance yourself from all negative people, and make it clear that you’re not available to participate in their drama. By all means, do NOT let misguided guilt suck you in. As our Scorpio friend Judy would say, “Nail the coffin shut.”
If you’re in a relationship, consider working with a coach or counselor, or even doing some energy work together. There’s a soulmate aspect to the zodiac’s twelfth house, and we’ve seen many engagements and pregnancies happen under its spell. Surrendering to a deep connection takes work. The retrograde is prime time to identify your own blocks to trust and intimacy.
Karma is a twelfth house theme, so if you’ve ended things badly with anyone, make the proper emotional and spiritual amends, then move on. It’s okay to express regret about how things were handled, but that doesn’t mean you have to set up a coffee date or hash out the past. You could even do a little ritual on your own to release the ties.
A Pisces friend showed us a great visualization for letting go: Close your eyes and imagine a fishing hook in your heart, threaded with silver, and connected to the heart of a person you want to release. Now, picture yourself pulling the hook out of your heart and casting it far into the universe. (Feel free to make a throwing motion; muscles have memory.) The divine forces will take care of this person from here. Let yourself experience freedom and relief.
One of the best days to really do this is on March 11, when the Virgo full moon illuminates your fifth house of love and fertility. Full moons bring things to completion and are excellent days for manifestation and closure. If you’re already in love, this is a day for rekindled passion and romance. A pregnancy, or news of one, is possible. A creative project gets a boost, too. Just watch for drama, as energies will run especially high around you—and don’t go stirring it up yourself.
Even better, this moon forms a harmonious angle to transformational Pluto. Taurus, you are truly ready to adopt a new attitude toward love. Stubborn as you are, you can stick to your judgments about people, but be willing to alter your philosophy. A person from another city, culture, even country could play into events around this full moon.
On March 20, the Sun moves into Aries, kicking off a restful month before your birthday. Power down a little, or put new ventures on a short-term hold. There are matters that you need to complete before you go charging off into new horizons. You may need to make a few extra sacrifices, push yourself a little harder now.
On the 26th, the Aries new moon can help you identify all those lingering unfinished items and sknock them out. Don’t force anything now. If something isn’t happening as quickly as you like, let it go. If it’s meant to be, it will return after April 20, when you’re better equipped to handle it.
If possible, take a vacation near water during the last week in March. Five planets will visit this sleepy twelfth house, and you may just want to escape. If you can’t get away, indulge in massages, yoga, or any healing treatments you can. Do more of the “letting go” work we mentioned earlier, too. Our Aquarius friend Misha recommended a great book called Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui by Karen Kingston. Pick it up and make room for all things new to come your way in April!
