Monthly
Horoscope:
Libra (September 23-October 22)
March 2009
Your closest relationships are going through an evolution, Libra. This month, take stock of your partnerships, and your entire approach to commitment. A tall order, perhaps—but you’re ready for it. Make changes where necessary.
It all starts on March 6, when your ruler Venus goes retrograde (backward) for six weeks. Venus is in your seventh house of relationships, where it's spending an unusually long time this year (February through June). For the first half of 2009, partnership is a dominant theme—in both personal and professional realms.
Libra is the natural ruler of the seventh house, so you're in your element teaming up. However, the retrograde could cause a few setbacks. Astrologers generally advise against getting married during Venus retrograde, and it's sort of a "blackout" period for love. While we don't agree with the overall ban, there are certainly less challenging times. You'll need to be extremely patient and forgiving with your mate during this time.
Retrogrades bring back the past, and an ex-partner could resurface between now and April 17th. If you have unfinished business with someone, or you're still holding a torch, do what it takes to snuff out the flame. Or, you might try for a second go-round. Proceed with caution, though. This person may come back as more of a teacher or a messenger than a proper long-term match.
If a relationship has been on the rocks, Venus retrograde could bring a moment of reckoning. Libra, avoidance and denial can be your co-pilots (along with procrastination), but enough's enough. If you value this alliance, don't expect it to fix itself. Coaching, therapy or some form of mediation can help you identify negative patterns and heal.
Of course, you may decide it's in your best interest to part ways and move on. You'll certainly know around March 11th, when the Virgo full moon illuminates your twelfth house of endings. If you're ready to say goodbye, you'll know now. Your imagination could run wild on this day, but the moon may also reveal hidden information that helps you make a solid decision.
Another factor in events? Your new sense of stability, which has been developing since late November. Around Thanksgiving, transformational Pluto entered your fourth house of home, family and foundations then, where it will stay for 16 years. Libra, you're an Air sign who likes to move around, but you may have suddenly found yourself wanting to put down roots. What you need from a home—and from aspects of your life—is permanence. This is a new sensation for a butterfly like you, but you'll find that commitment doesn't clip your wings like you feared.
Pluto and the full moon will form a harmonious angle on March 11th. If you're thinking of starting or expanding your family, baby news could be on its way. If you need to "cut the cord" with your parents and start living on your own terms, make that separation. It's time to let go of one thing so that you can become more of something else.
On the upside, there's plenty of romantic opportunity this year. Since January, lucky Jupiter has been in your fifth house of true love, adding more passion to your life. A pregnancy is even possible at some point. On March 26, the new moon in your partnership sector helps you begin a new chapter in your love life. With four planets joining forces here, the love energy is strong.
Amidst any chaos, you'll want to get yourself organized. Through March 20, the Pisces Sun lights up your sector of fitness and orderliness. Trips to the gym will help you blow off steam and reconnect you to your body. Setting up a good filing system and clearing clutter will keep you focused on priorities. Get your taxes in early, too, since accounting is favored during this time. You may not be able to control what's happening with other people, but you can certainly keep you own life in order. It's a start!
