Monthly Horoscope:

Libra (September 23-October 22)

JUNE 2008

Have you taken a summer vacation yet, Libra? If not, pack your bags. The New Moon on June 3 falls in your ninth house of long-distance travel. The first three weeks are prime time for a getaway, especially if you’re returning to an old favorite place. Even a short trip to visit a friend in another state could be worth your while—you may have to plan a lot into a small timeframe, but you’re always up for that!

One caveat: Mercury, planet of travel, technology and communication, is retrograde (backward) in your ninth house through June 20. If you do take a trip, there could be delays with flights or traffic. Libra, you can be a little spacey about details at times, so make sure you triple-confirm flight times and any other important data.

The ninth house also rules study and entrepreneurship. If you’re launching a business, use this retrograde to press “pause” and review your plans. You might have skimmed over a few key details, so go back and make sure everything is solid. If you’re applying to school, send your documents via certified mail to confirm their arrival. Mercury retrograde has a way of messing with the postal system!

From June 7-9, Mercury retrograde joins forces with your ruler, romantic Venus. An old lover could return on the scene, possibly from your school days. You could bump into an old friend in the unlikeliest places: the bookstore, or even while vacationing in another city! Or, if you return to an old destination, you might meet someone special.

Either way, you’ll want to get your party on before June 21, when the Sun and Venus will both be in Cancer, your tenth house of career. At that point, your work life kicks back into high gear, with new responsibilities filling up your calendar.

Not that you won’t be in the mood to socialize. In fact, on June 15, transformational Pluto dips back into your third house of friends and communication until November 27. This will be Pluto’s last visit here during your lifetime.

Pluto moved into your fourth house of home and family in January, turning you from social butterfly into a cocoon-loving creature. Talk about a strange reversal, Libra! Where you might have been a VIP on the club or party circuit, you may have shocked friends by becoming a homebody type, a family guy or even a little solitary.

Either way, Pluto has begun transforming your approach to family and domestic matters. Perhaps this began with a bit of an “earthquake.” Libra, you may not be completely satisfied with the way things are going in your private life. Pluto gave you a little shakeup, forcing you to make some big new lifestyle choices. Your relationship with your mother or a key female figure has also been a bit volcanic at times this year.

Now, Pluto departs from this part of your chart until late Fall. For now, Pluto’s issuing a reminder: just because you’re all serious or family-oriented, doesn’t mean you can’t party! If you’ve lost your joie de vive, Pluto brings it back.

Of course, Pluto rules the underworld, so keep your fun-loving ways on the up-and-up. Make sure your partying habits or old style of communicating isn’t harmful to your new efforts at stabilizing. Yes, you need friends and a social life, but don’t assert your new agenda in a way that hurts a significant other.

The third house rules all forms of communication—marketing, new media, publicity, writing, speaking. There’s still some unfinished business in the way you communicate yourself, Libra. Use this Pluto cycle to ramp up your efforts at self-promotion. Speak up and don’t be a people-pleaser just to avoid conflict. Remember, you may be an iron fist in a velvet glove, but you can still pack a punch! At the June 18 Full Moon, you’ll be extra inspired to pour out your thoughts. Again, remain constructive, since Pluto could send you on a regrettable tirade that does more damage than good.

Ready to get back in shape? On June 27, innovative Uranus retrogrades in your sixth house of health and organization. You’ll have the sudden urge to purge—be it extra pounds or all that clutter you seem to attract. Pick up an old fitness routine or revamp your workspace. It will help you feel so much clearer as the planets power up your career life in July.
