Horoscope:
Aries (March 21-April 10)
JUNE 2008
You’re coming out of your shell now, Aries, and the world is a better place for it. For many Aries, May was a month of self-imposed isolation. You could have spent your days fretting over money or dealing with aggravating details like organizing your workspace. Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, rocketed forward into “direct” motion after a long winter’s nap. This opened the floodgates and possibly even overwhelmed you with worries and irrational fears. Thoughts like “What should I do for a living?” or “Will things work out?” could have plagued you. Although you shuffled a few papers around on your desk, it wasn’t all that productive—at least, not by your usual standards. Write it off, Aries. May was more of a “processing” month, a chance to get re-grounded in your life and clear through the fog. Hopefully, you’ve emerged with a stronger sense of what you do and don’t want to do with your life.
Now, it’s time to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and put yourself back out there. However, before you issue a press release declaring “I’m alive!” or blast off your resume, proceed with caution. Mercury, the planet of communication, technology and travel, went retrograde (backward) on Memorial Day. This cycle, which can cause all communication to go haywire, lasts until June 20. Daydreamy Neptune is also retrograde now, which could make you a little spacey. While this sudden burst of laissez-faire energy might be fun for your social life, it won’t make you the sharpest tool in the shed from 9 to 5. You’ll need to pay special attention to what you say and put in writing. Be careful not to gossip unless, read all the fine print if you’re signing contracts, and make sure you don’t send private emails to the wrong person by accident. Aries, if there was ever a time to stop rushing, it’s now. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of kissing butt and begging for forgiveness.
Aries, you’ll feel this retrograde doubly strong, as Mercury is in your third house of communication. Retrogrades are a time to turn “backward,” so use it to your benefit. Get in touch with old contacts and helpful friends. Return calls and clean out your Inbox. (After a month of avoiding contact with the human race, you’ve probably got plenty of messages piled up!) Neptune rules film, photography and the arts, so blow the dust off any dormant creative projects. Teaming up with old friends or collaborators is especially beneficial for the first three weeks of June. Don’t be surprised if a few call you up out of the blue this month, too!
On June 3, a New Moon also falls in your third house of communication. It’s a great time to start a writing project, or to record all your ideas. Pick up a tape recorder or use your computer’s audio system and just talk “stream of consciousness” style into it. Aries, your mind moves quickly, so talking is more efficient than writing for you. Use your verbal skills to your advantage. If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur, it’s also a good time to focus on marketing and PR for your company.
This New Moon is also opportune to begin a new style of communicating with others. Aries, you know you can be impatient and hotheaded at times. You may have steamrolled a few people in your rush to make things happen, or snapped at someone in a tense moment. Are apologies in order? Just because you’ve moved beyond it, doesn’t mean they have. Sometimes, you get so eager to close the deal or see results, you skip over the niceties that others need.
From June 7-9, a golden moment occurs here. Venus, planet of love and harmony, joins forces with the Sun and Mercury, making it a beautiful day to make amends. Send a sweet bouquet or gift to someone who’s put up with your diva moments. Hand-write a thoughtful card: “Dear X, I know I can be a royal pain in the ass, but I so appreciate everything you’ve done. You’re brilliant and I adore the ground you walk on.” Or, “Sweetie, I may have a funny way of showing it, but I love you more than anything.” This kind of gift will keep on giving returns. Loveplanet Venus could also bring back an old admirer during this week. Who knows—you could hear from a long-lost love! On June 19, Venus moves into nostalgic Cancer. A childhood sweetheart or long-lost friend could even reappear.
Speaking of love, things continue heating up for you. Your ruling planet, sexy Mars, is in your fifth house of romance until July. If you haven’t made yourself available for date nights (even if you’re already committed), you can expect to get a lot of admiring glances as you strut out your summer wardrobe.
On June 18, a Full Moon falls in Sagittarius, which rules your ninth house of publishing, travel and the higher mind. A vacation could be particularly enlightening, even life-altering. Your name could appear in print (we’re talking headlines, baby). You could have an “a-ha!” moment about an issue that’s stumped you for months. Suddenly, you’ll see this micro-drama from a wide-angle, panoramic view. Use the next couple months to transform this situation at a core level. This could include changing deeply-engrained habits and beliefs, so go easy. We recently picked up a great book called The First 30 Days: Your Guide to Any Change (and Loving Your Life More) by Ariane De Bonvoisin.
A couple days before the Full Moon, powerful Pluto retrogrades back into Sagittarius. It’s time to ask yourself: what do I put my faith in? We’re not suggesting you find religion (unless it’s a genuine desire). However, you do tend to be so self-reliant and focused on getting what you want, you may ignore that divine voice of the Universe—even when it’s shouting in your ear! If you can quiet your thoughts for a moment, you’ll hear your intuition talking, and making a whole lot of sense. Aries, this will guide you farther than any knee-jerk reaction or irrational thought ever could.
Put your faith in something bigger than yourself now, Aries. And don’t be afraid to say these three words: “I don’t know.” It takes courage to admit this. The second you surrender to it, you’ll be amazed how the universe lines up support all around you. Friends will show up eager to join your team. Or, you may serendipitously see a flyer or posting for a class, vacation, or lecture that speaks exactly to your highest goals. Truthfully, the support has always been there. You may have been blocking it with your insistence on doing it all yourself. Aries, you’ve got nothing to prove. Let it in and watch your life take off!
