It’s time to play, Aquarius! After a somewhat solitary May filled with home and family matters, June shifts into romantic high gear. The energy turns decidedly lighter, helping you welcome summer with your trademark spirit of fun.
Until June 20, Mercury is retrograde (backward) in your fifth house of romance and creativity. Mercury retrograde often brings back people from our pasts. An old flame could reappear in your life, stirring up romantic feelings—particularly between June 7-9. If it feels right, why not give it another try? Even if you’re no longer interested, the planets will help you resolve any lingering hurt or resentment, and put total closure on this chapter.
Aquarius, you prefer to be friends with your exes, so if there’s anyone from you’re past that you haven’t forgiven, do so now. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to make contact. Just release the bad feelings or energy to the universe, and let the cosmos take care of it! Do this early in the month if possible, since a New Moon on June 3 falls in this sector, bringing a fresh burst of energy to your love life. Don’t let old grudges clutter up the space! The fifth house also rules pregnancy, so you or a mate could be especially fertile during the first three weeks of June. Note to self!
If you’re committed, keep things to a dull roar. Mars, the planet of aggression and sex, is in your seventh house of relationships. There’s an element of tension or excitement around your partnerships. It could be that you’re motivated to take things to the next level, or simply feeling lots of sexy chemistry. Or, Mars’ energy could manifest as aggravation and arguing, rubbing each other the wrong way. This cycle lasts until mid-July, so take a lot of deep breaths! On top of Mercury retrograde, this is a lot to handle.
Mercury retrograde can also cause all kinds of misunderstandings, so take extra care with your communication. Are you being 100% upfront with your romantic partner? If you’re casually dating or haven’t made things official, make sure you’re not leading people on. People usually get upset because their expectations aren’t met. Are you giving them false hope or mixed signals? Aquarius, practice the art of under-promising and over-delivering. You tend to be a people pleaser, but remember: it’s okay to express your boundaries. If someone you’re involved with is being wishy-washy with you, the same advice applies.
This month, you’ll need to make your limits extra clear. Neptune, the planet of illusions and creativity, is also retrograde (backward) in Aquarius. This cycle could make you feel self-pitying or tempt you to play the victim. Neptune has a way of making everything very foggy or unclear. You’ll need to regularly remind yourself to speak up. Just because you may feel helpless in a situation doesn’t mean you are. In fact, you might want to develop a counteractive strategy to snap yourself out of this disempowering mindset. Neptune rules the imagination, so remember that yours will be working overtime. You may need to attend to an old health issue, but the results will be positive, especially once Venus moves into your health sector on June 19.
The best antidote to Neptune retrograde is using your voice. Teamwork will also save the day. On June 18, a Full Moon falls in your eleventh house of groups, friendship and humanity, making this a four-star day for any collaboration. A socially conscious project designed to change society or challenge the status quo will curry extra favor from the stars. It’s a great day to host a summer kickoff party or plan a big weekend with friends. If you’re planning a fundraiser or raising money for a non-profit, you could get a big boost of support around this Full Moon.
On June 15, transformational Pluto backs into your eleventh house as well, staying there for one last hurrah until November 27. A key friendship or group association that you ended could return, causing a bit of inner conflict. Ask yourself: what’s the lesson I still need to learn from this? Apparently, you may have some unfinished business with this friend or group. Now is your chance to complete it.
The eleventh house also rules rebellion. With Pluto here, your defiant streak will be at an all-time high now. “Don’t fence me in” is a lovely mantra—for a bumper sticker or anti-war anthem, maybe. In your real life, it won’t work so well. Curb an urge to destroy all your hard work just to prove a point, Aquarius. It’s not worth it.
On June 27, your ruling planet Uranus goes retrograde in your money sector. (Yes, we know—it’s retrograde mania this month!) Uranus is the planet of surprises and innovation. The retrograde cycle is a good time to look at your spending habits and budget. Is your approach to money working well enough for you? If not, it may be time for a radical shift in the way you manage finances. Money may also come in irregular spurts now. If you can, stash away a little extra to get yourself through lean times. Ride the wave and try not to freak out about the future. A little preparation will balance things out. Even if you’re a “live for today” type, it wouldn’t hurt to add a little extra planning now. These plans will only serve as a rough outline. There will be plenty of exciting surprises either way!
