MONTHLY
OVERVIEW:
Pump your fist in the air! Your
best year in over a decade is about to begin, Pisces—and
damn, have you earned it. You’re accustomed to feeling a
little bit sorry for yourself (admit it), but you deserved the
sympathy for the struggles 2009 put you through. Jupiter was in
Aquarius, your twelfth house of endings and rest. In spite of the
challenges, the year served an important function: closure.
Pisces, you’ve learned powerful lessons about surrendering control. The more you forced life to conform to your expectations, the more you became the punch line of your own cosmic joke. When you relaxed and let the universe handle things, everything worked out so divinely, it was almost eerie.
On January 17th, the twisted comedy closes—and you get the last laugh. Expansive Jupiter enters Pisces, ushering in a brand-new beginning. Jupiter will be here until June, returning in September for the rest of 2010. This year is all about luck, opportunity and taking bold risks that defy your imagination. Just a couple caveats: Mercury is retrograde (backward) in Capricorn until January 15th, indicating that you may need to part ways or resolve a longstanding conflict with friends. If you belong to a group that no longer fits your interests, take a break or move on. On January 19th, the Sun enters Aquarius, delivering one final roundup of unfinished business. Finish your commitments, and you’ll have a clean slate by your birthday.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
Have you had a change of heart? The Cancer lunar eclipse on New Year’s
Eve started the month with a swirl of passion and unexpected events.
Although you may have been hurt, it’s safe to let your heart
guide again—at least most of the way. If you’re not feeling
the love deep in your bones, why bother? You either have to bring the
passion back or call it a day. Single Pisces could hit romantic pay
dirt through online dating, especially at the solar eclipse on January
15th. Friends could also introduce you to a hot new prospect, or you
could meet someone at a party.
Old intimacy issues could creep back after January 13th, when Saturn begins a five-month retrograde of your relationship sectors. You may find yourself raising old barriers, or pulling away from your significant other emotionally. Don’t let this go unquestioned. Couples’ therapy, a sensuality workshop, or working through early patterns can bring you closer in the end. Some Pisces may call off an engagement or end a suppressive relationship. Just do this with considerable forethought, weighing the decision against your long-term wants.
MONEY & CAREER:
It’s all about who you know, Pisces—and if you’re
not inspired by the people around you, cut ‘em loose. Last year,
you may have picked up a parasite or two, and these hangers-on will
drain your energy for as long as you allow. Buh-bye! Old friends and
colleagues may be up to big things, so reconnect with them during the
first half of January. During this time, communication planet Mercury
is retrograde (backward) in your group activity sector, a great time
for reunions. Do back up your technology during this cycle, as Mercury
retrograde can cause computer crashes and disappearing data. Avoid
buying new equipment until this cycle ends. On January 15th, a Capricorn
solar eclipse introduces you to a dynamic group of independent thinkers—your
kind of people! Attend an industry or networking event near this eclipse,
because you’re likely to make fascinating new connections.
On January 13th, structured Saturn goes retrograde in your wealth sector until April 7th. Seriously review your long-term financial plans during this cycle, working with a trusted advisor. You may want to pay off debt, sell some investments or move. Patience, Pisces—caution is your watchword. This is not the most favorable time to buy or sell a home, so don’t rush into a real estate deal. A legal matter, perhaps the division of assets with an ex or former business partner, could also proceed slowly. Remember your lessons from 2009: surrender! That doesn’t mean to give up. Just don’t force anything to go a certain way, or you could interfere with divine timing.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
Watch your stress levels, Pisces. Anxious Mars is retrograde in your
well-being sector until March, making you a nervous Nelly. It doesn’t
help that your life is changing at warp speed, especially once adventurous
Jupiter enters Pisces on the 17th. Although these are largely positive,
exciting changes, that doesn’t make the adjustment any easier.
Change is change. It still requires that you say goodbye to one way
of life, and that always puts a little sadness in your heart.
Exercise will make all the difference, so push yourself to work out, even if that means a fifteen-minute walk through town. Otherwise, you could have a minor meltdown at the Leo full moon on January 30th. So not worth it! Working with a therapist can help you manage your mental health and stem the emotional tide before it drowns you. A spiritual practice or consultation with a mystic could bring you inner peace, especially if you’ve recently suffered a loss.
