MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
The year starts out with a bang, and
keeps on popping. Change floods your personal and professional life, and
the shape-shifting continues for the whole 2010. On January 15th, a Capricorn
solar eclipse marks your personal new year, thrusting you into the limelight
or down an unfamiliar solo path. This is new terrain, and you’re
feeling a wee bit vulnerable, to say the least. Are you comfortable on
those skinny branches? Heck no.
Keep climbing anyway, Cappy. If the bough threatens to snap, fear not—you’ll soon find plenty of people to break your fall. On the 17th, expansive Jupiter enters Pisces, your third house of communication, siblings and friends. It’s a year of exciting ideas, new lessons and fascinating kindred spirits. With Mercury retrograde (backward) in Capricorn until the 15th, you’ll also take a hard look at your past actions. You might not like everything you see. However, you can only learn from mistakes and change the future. When the Sun enters Aquarius on the 19th, assess your values and check your confidence levels. LOVE & ROMANCE:
Major change comes to your partnerships now. 2009 ended with a Cancer lunar
eclipse, prompting a big decision or energy shift in your love life.
This eclipse made your needs and priorities clearer, and they may bear
little resemblance to even a year ago. (This can be scary at moments—here,
you thought you knew yourself so well, an now it turns out you don’t.)
Eclipses will continue to touch this part of your chart until 2011, so
don’t despair if you’re feeling confused or uncertain about
a relationship. There’s no need to have it all figured out.
Mid-month, a Capricorn solar eclipse joins romantic Venus, begging the question: how much do you love yourself? If you can’t answer with clarity, take a couple weeks to yourself. You need space now, and that’s okay. The January 30th Leo full moon lights up your sector of intimacy and passion. Engagements, breakups, pregnancies and steamy hookups could enter the picture. With aggressive Mars joining this moon, there could be a fight or emotional blowout. Sometimes, clearing the air can bring you closer, especially as pent-up as you can get. You could settle this by hurling daggers at each other, or with a soul-melding make-up tryst. Your call.

Last year was a wild ride, with lots of financial expansion and opportunity.

Roll the dice now, because on the 17th, Jupiter moves into Pisces, your
third house of communication. In 2010, your best luck comes from media,
writing, teaching and study. With social change-maker Uranus also in
Pisces, you might take on a community project, even try your hand at
local politics. Capricorn business owners should revamp their marketing
and branding.
The Sun and magnetic Venus enter Aquarius on the 19th, helping you focus on practical, cash-producing goals. If you’re job hunting, you could meet a great contact at an industry party or through friends near this date. On January 30th, the Leo full moon links up with ambitious Mars in your wealth sector. You may receive or make a large payment, close a real estate deal, or settle a back payment (like taxes or credit card debt).
