Monthly
Horoscope:
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
FEBRUARY 2009
February’s message: own your power! After a few bumps and bruises from Mercury retrograde, your life gets back on track. The Sun is in Aquarius, your tenth house of career and success. Manifestation is the name of the game! It’s time to harvest what you’ve been building since last August. That could be a project at work, a long-term goal, or even a way of carrying yourself that’s dignified and sure.
Last month, you may have felt like a car with its tires stuck in the mind, wheels desperately spinning but going nowhere. Taurus, you like nothing more than a juicy goal that you can charge after. From January 11-February 1, Mercury retrograde upset your life’s structures, making it impossible to get stuff done with your usual efficiency.
Being forced to go back to the drawing board could have been a blessing in disguise. Perhaps in the chaos, you discovered that a plan wasn’t as airtight as you thought. A situation you put stock in may have turned out to be smoke and mirrors. Although you may feel let down or disappointed, knowing the truth might have saved a lot of future headache.
Maybe you put somebody on a pedestal, rather than stepping into your own authority. It’s sad to be “failed” by a hero, but you might question why you idealized this person to begin with. Was it a way of avoiding growing up? Were you looking for an easy answer or cutting corners? Taurus, you must do things with integrity this month—and that means knowing who you are, what you’re worth and operating from there.
This month, break your goals down into a manageable plan. Follow basic steps and keep it elegantly simple. On February 23rd you could have an amazing victory. That day, the Moon, Jupiter, Neptune and Mars all converge in your tenth house. Luck, vision and drive come together. While this may force you to alter your life circumstances, remain as flexible as possible. Loosen up your rigid stance and welcome a miracle in whatever form it takes.
A move could even be in order this month, thanks to a Leo lunar eclipse in your domestic fourth house on February 9th. This day will bring family, home and anything involving women to a peak. You could see changes in your family structure, or you might even embrace your own feminine power. A message from your mother or a key female might bring important news. If you have issues with your mom (let’s face it, who doesn’t?), you may be able to see her through new eyes.
The fourth house is the foundation of the chart, and it rules our deepest personal security. While eclipses can shake things up a little, this one could merely expose how rock-solid you’ve become on the inside—along with where you need to grow. Take stock of your personal development on this day. Honestly assess where your next phase of growth is, and get to work on it. When a second eclipse falls here in August, you could really cannel your results into a new life chapter.
As for love? Venus will be in your twelfth house of soulmates, healing and endings February 4-June 6. While you could meet that fantasy lover, you should still go slowly—even though the temptation to get “swept away” is strong. The twelfth house is a mirage, ruled by illusion-spinning Neptune. People and situations may not be as they seem. You may not be sure whom to trust, and your own mind could play tricks on you. A therapist, confidante or healer could help you sort that out. You’ll need lots of reality checks!
Taurus, don’t run away from problems now, or escape by indulging in vices. Chances are, you’ll only create more trouble. Shady or sneaky moves could be exposed, so don’t go there. Yoga, meditation or soul-soothing treatments will be much more beneficial.
If you have unfinished business with someone from your past, or any lingering pain, this long Venus transit is prime time for closure. With strict Saturn also retrograde in your love sector until May 16th, you’re in relationship boot camp now. Taurus, you’re a creature of habit who follows the “once bitten, twice shy” credo. It’s time to let that go and believe in true love again!
On Valentine's Day, a tense square between the moon and Mars could bring up issues regarding your parents. Rather than project those on somebody else, write down whatever upsets you that day. It could provide important clues to old wounds and patterns you need to break. Not to get all Freudian, but these are your primary relationships, and they set the tone for your own style of relating. Don’t use Cupid’s arrow to shoot the messenger!
Friends could bring exciting new perspectives, along with opportunities to get out of your head and involved in society. After the 18th, it’s important that you attach yourself to something bigger than your own life. Find something that inspires you, where you feel you can really leave a mark in the world. Whether it’s politics, forming a women’s group, creating a website, or making community service a regular part of your life—go for it, Taurus.
