It’s a whole new world, Scorpio. You’re at the start of a fresh 15-year cycle—and you’re ready. On November 27th, your ruler Pluto moved from Sagittarius into Capricorn, its first permanent shift since 1995. Pluto brings major transformation to any area it touches, and it’s been in your second house of work and money for the last 13 years. Pluto helped to align your daily work with your most fundamental values. Although you may have had some intense highs and lows—perhaps even walking away from a career path or two—it was all by Pluto’s design.
Now, Pluto has moved into your third house, which rules communication and local affairs. Writing, speaking, teaching and community organizing are all favored. Working with your hands is also possible, and with Pluto’s mystic force, you might even discover that you have hands-on healing powers. The third house also rules marketing, and you could totally transform the way you “package” or present yourself. The result will be fascinating!
You may have already gotten a lighter preview of Pluto’s new era this year. Since last Christmas, expansive Jupiter has toured your third house. Your social life probably flourished, as Jupiter brought in a wave of new friends who could “mirror” or complement you. You may have moved to a new neighborhood, or evolved in your relationship with a sibling. You may have landed a job in a communications field, or one that required you to attend parties and events. All in all, not a bad year!
With intense Pluto here, you can parlay these new social skills into a powerful mission. Unlike jovial Jupiter, mystic Pluto has dark depths and hidden dimensions (no surprise it’s Scorpio’s ruler). Your words and ideas will carry more power than ever, so wield them with precision. You could thrive by attaching yourself to a world-transforming cause—especially one that starts in your own backyard, or at a grassroots level. As the old slogan goes, think globally and act locally. It’s never been truer for you than now.
In the meantime, December turns your attention to money and material security. Although your finances have been a bit erratic this year, you could come in with a big finish. With the Sun and Mars here, you’re poised to attract some end-of-the-year cash. It may mean putting in a little holiday overtime, but don’t look at it like coal in your stocking. In some way, you’ve been hoping for this opportunity, even if the timing isn’t perfect.
At the December 12th full moon, a surprise bonus or windfall could come your way. If you’re owed a lump sum of money, this is a great time to collect it. You might also have to make a payment at this moon, but we’re hoping that the cash flows into your account instead of out. If you’ve loaned money to a friend or exhausted your resources socially, you may need to deal with the situation head-on, especially around the 15th. Don’t sweep it under the rug; take decisive action and you’ll see positive results.
Be sure to intersperse any long hours with pleasure and pampering, too. You deserve a reward! And even if it means bringing a change of clothes to the office, don’t skip out on holiday parties—at least not during the first week of December. Lucky Jupiter will join romantic Venus in your social third house. Single Scorpios could find love unexpectedly over some holiday eggnog. Who knew? Cupid is also lurking in local hangouts like a favorite ethnic restaurant, live music lounge or bookstore, waiting for you to show up.
On December 9th, Venus moves into Aquarius and your homey fourth house. House parties (perhaps even your own) and family gatherings could be where you meet someone special. If your mom or a female relative wants to introduce you to someone, give it a chance! If you’re already attached, you’ll find yourself getting warm-and-fuzzy by spending family time with your sweetie. You might even move in together, or team up for a little year-end housecleaning.
Keep a pen and paper handy over the holidays. Although they look to be fun and social, you could have an a-ha moment or two, especially after the 27th. Who knows—the idea for a great 2009 venture could arrive in a relaxed atmosphere when you least expect it. You might also get a message or hear from a friend, sparking a conversation that leads to your next adventure.
