MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
Come out come out, wherever you are. The Aries Sun blazes into your fifth house of passion and play, a peak season for fiery Sagittarians. You’re flooded with a renewal and hope, matched by the life bursting into bloom all around you. Although work may be demanding in April, you can release stress through fun physical activity, like biking, singing karaoke, or a steamy night with your sweetie.

On April 20th, the Sun moves into Taurus, your sector of health and organization. Practical matters will soon predominate, so be sure to fill your “adventure tank” in advance. Your sign is ruled by Jupiter, party-hearty god of the feast. Thus, your astrological wiring impels you to gorge at the banquet of life. Once your wild appetite is sated, you’re happy to get back to business. So load up at the steam table before the buffet closes down. A little indulgence will take you through the leaner days of May.

Back up your files and systems on April 18th, when communication planet Mercury goes retrograde (backward) for three weeks in Taurus. This cycle is notorious for crashing computers, and you don’t want to lose valuable data. This is a great time to purge old papers and emails, answer that stack of mail, and toss unwanted relics. Irritating little tasks could demand completion, but don’t pressure yourself to do it all at once. Make a list and tackle one item at a time.

LOVE & ROMANCE:
Pass the passion, please! It’s time to insist on pleasure, whether it’s from your partner or by your own hand. In April, it’s okay to be a little “selfish” in the love department, as long as you return the gesture. This month, ask BOTH what you can do for your partner, AND what s/he can do for you. The Sun is in your lusty fifth house, making you crave deep physical satisfaction.

On April 14th, the Aries new moon hits the “refresh” button on romance. If you’re single, bring out that bold inner temptress. Flirt up a firestorm, post a spunky online dating profile, or go out and celebrate life with all your Sagittarian succulence. Don’t hold back your personality one iota.

Admirers will be drawn like moths to a heat lamp—and those who think you’re “too much” will be weeded out of the running. No sense in wasting your time on conservative, judgmental types who frown on your over-the-top charisma. You need a partner who “gets” you. That person could come along after the 25th, when Venus enters Gemini, your committed relationship sector. Until then, single Sags should “try before you buy.”

MONEY & CAREER:
Roll up your sleeves, Sagittarius. The next couple months could pile on the work and professional challenges. Hard-driving Saturn backs into Virgo on April 7th, making one last Big Bertha-style inspection of your career sector. Are the beds made with crisp hospital corners? The goals realistic? The work complete and precise? Saturn sweeps in to reveal design flaws and kick your butt into shape. Much like boot camp or an IRS audit, the process could be painful, but it’s intended to leave you strong and stable.

Think back to September 2007-November 2009, when Saturn last toured Virgo. Is there unfinished business from this cycle? A job, mentor or opportunity from that time could come back around now, too. You may experience tension with a boss or authority figure. This is a chance to make sure that you’re really on your path—a worthy consideration for your purpose-driven sign. Don’t fight to stay at a job that doesn’t satisfy your soul. When Saturn departs on May 31st, it won’t return here for another 30 years. Let this wise planet reconfigure your life as it sees fit.

Meantime, your attitude about money is ready for an overhaul. On April 6th, psyche-shifting Pluto goes retrograde (backward) in your financial sector until September. Let go of material possessions and spending habits that don’t make your soul sing. Although most Sags could be wildly happy living out of a backpack, you also have an appetite for “stuff,” and can accumulate quite a bit.

What do “prosperity” and “abundance” mean to you on a more spiritual level? We’re not saying to forgo the Balenciaga bag, but question your motives for wanting it. Do you tingle each time you throw it over your shoulder? Then invest. But if it’s a “status bag” meant to inspire envy, save your money. Connect your consumer habits to global consciousness—and support companies that replenish the natural resources they use. If you’re stuck in the scarcity trap, read Napoleon Hill’s classic Think and Grow Rich, a treatise on your subconscious powers to manifest wealth.

HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
You need a little Vitamin F this month—that stands for “fun.” Dancing or chasing hot guys down the street with your number are just as aerobic as that grueling spin class. The first three weeks of April infuse each moment with playful wonder, even though you’ll be working hard. Let your desires guide you through the farmer’s market and pick out special ingredients like Jerusalem artichokes or jalapeno chutney. Experiment with palate-defying creations that titillate your tongue. On the 20th, the Sun moves into Taurus, your health-conscious sixth house. You’ll be a bit more disciplined from then on—but don’t lose your sense of play.

On April 28th, the Scorpio full moon puts emotional closure on the last six months. Think back to mid-November, a time when many Sagittarians faced a painful change or began a sensitive new life chapter. Something from last fall is ready to be healed and released, perhaps with a ritual near water. This change could happen within yourself—for example, you may let go of codependence or trying to control others’ choices. Water is a cleansing element, so even a bowl of fresh water placed on the windowsill overnight can be a symbolic gesture. This is an important moment for creative visualization. Call upon guides, goddesses and angels for divine support. They’re standing at the ready, waiting for you to ask.
