MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
Your reinvented life is picking up steam, Pisces. Last month, the universe
made it clear—you’re on a brand-new path, so leave the
past behind. One thing you’re ditching? The whole martyr routine.
You serve no one by sacrificing that which matters to you. You’ve
used children, family or work obligations as excuses, but those are
bankrupt. It’s time to “do you.” The Aries sun
puts you in productive spirits, ready to roll up your sleeves and
start building a lifestyle that matches your desires. Shift your
time management, your eating habits, your style of dress or career—all
to reflect your priorities.
Be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater, though. Saturn opposes Uranus in Pisces for the next couple months, stirring your rebel inclinations. As you realize that you’ve put up with the doormat role, you may feel angry at those who’ve wiped their feet on your insincere welcome mat. Resist the temptation to lash out or “settle the score” with a counter- attack. Pisces, remember that you participated in this dynamic, too. There’s no sense in blaming people, just march on with your revolution and don’t apologize.
Watch what you say (and put in writing) after April 18th especially, when Mercury goes retrograde (backward) in your communication sector. Careless words could come back to haunt you otherwise. Take special care to back up any electronic data and files, as Mercury retrograde is notorious for crashing computers and scrambling gadgets.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
You’re feeling more casual than intimate this month, and that’s
okay. Venus is in your friendly third house, making you crave variety
and stimulating conversation more than anything too heavy. Single Pisces
could meet a new love interest through friends, or while running errands
in your neighborhood. Take it slow and just enjoy each other’s
company without an agenda.
For some Fish, there’s one last bout of unfinished business with a partner or even an ex. On April 7th, challenging Saturn backs into Virgo until May 31st, testing the strength of your bonds. Saturn was here from September 2007-November 2009, a time when your partnership limits were stretched. Some Pisces parted ways with a mate, others were separated by geography (perhaps due to work or family obligations), while others did serious rebuilding. It tested your mettle, but you’ve emerged a stronger, more self-sufficient partner.
There may be a little further to go before you strike the right balance between togetherness and honoring your own needs. Part of you may fear that an equal or mutual relationship isn’t possible with your current mate. With Saturn opposing free-spirited Uranus (in Pisces), you may feel downright claustrophobic in your relationship. You may want to declare “screw it all,” especially if you’ve been shouldering most of the load. Before you submit your resignation, try to communicate, perhaps with the help of a couple’s therapist or mediator. You may be surprised by your mate’s willingness to compromise and support your independence. At the very least, find out before you throw up your hands and quit.
MONEY & CAREER:
April is a powerhouse month for work, especially the first three weeks.
The Sun is in Aries, your finance sector, until the 20th. A new project
or job offer could surface near the Aries new moon April 11th, so
put yourself on the market now. Right now, a sophisticated image
counts, so leave the baggy bohemian threads on the rack. Invest in
a few quality pieces by good designers, and have them tailored to
your figure.
While you’re a powerhouse on your own, playing well with others could prove challenging now. The Saturn-Uranus opposition of April and May yanks you between a yen for security and itch to fly free. One day, you’re printing up business cards for your independent consulting business; the next, you’re feverishly scouting the job boards, hunting a steady paycheck. Unless you have the luxury to perform this dance, don’t quit your day job. Balance by taking on a side gig or volunteering on the weekend so you feel connected to a meaningful purpose.
The April 28th full moon falls in your entrepreneurial ninth house, sparking a great business idea, or inspiring you to go back to school. Again, don’t act in haste. Send away for course catalogues or sign up for a weekend seminar. Write notes on your brilliant money-making vision, then file them away for later. You’ll only stress yourself out if you force something to happen before its time.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
Are your friends inspiring or draining you? The people around you have
a direct influence on how you view the world. On April 6th, transformational
Pluto goes retrograde (backward) in your group and friendship sector,
making you question your alliances. You have a habit of picking up
tortured souls, but you’re also guilty of indulging their sob
stories when tough love might serve them better. Between now and
September, you may phase out of some friendships or group involvements.
If you feel that you’re being dominated or disrespected, speak up. While Mercury is retrograde April 18-May 11, clear the air with a friend if tension has reached the boiling point. Sometimes, a painfully honest conversation is what it takes. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Instead of soliciting sympathy, see how you’ve played into this dynamic—and change it.
