Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson: Cancer-Leo split

We called it back in February on E! “The Daily 10″: Cancer Lindsay Lohan’s got some growing up to do, or her Leo love Samantha Ronson could walk. Now, their breakup is official, and we’re not surprised.

On April 4th, transformational Pluto went retrograde (backward) in Capricorn, Lindsay’s seventh house of committed relationships. In mythology, Pluto is the god of the underworld, and its retrograde turn (also forming a tense square to Venus retrograde) brings up all of our stormy, seamy psychic baggage. For Cancers, unresolved issues like codependence, power games, and attempts to dominate a partner will be met with resistance. In Lohan’s case, Ronson changed the locks, and her family is even seeking a restraining order. Ouch!

The Cancer-Leo match can be difficult, since both partners are moody, emotional and dramatic. Fireworks can quickly become explosions. In some cases, like Leo Tom Brady and Cancer Gisele Bundchen, it works. However, even Bundchen came under fire this week for controversial remarks about her stepson that angered his bio-mom Bridget Moynihan. (“It’s not like because somebody else delivered him, that’s not my child,”said Gisele.)

A word to the Crabs: take a deeper look at your issues around relationships (we all have ‘em) between now and September. Use the Pluto retrograde cycle to become emotionally healthy, so that your relationships can be founded on mutual respect.

Madonna’s adoption rejected

It’s a tough week to be a Leo, as we wrote about yesterday…even if you’re Madonna. Her Madgesty has been in Malawi, petitioning to adopt 3-year-old Mercy from an African orphanage. Unfortunately, her timing was off. Harmonious Venus is retrograde (backward) in Leos’ ninth house of international issues, which spells bad luck overseas. This cycle lasts until April 11th (Venus will dip back into her legal sector April 12-24). Foreign relations are at an all-time low for Leos, and indeed, the Malawian judge rejected Madonna’s case.

Today, transformational Pluto goes retrograde in Leos’ sixth house of service. Pluto retrograde causes us to rethink plans and question our deepest motives. Madonna might want to head home and check in with her three children. Her divorce from Guy Ritchie may have taken a greater toll on them than she realizes. Leos are all getting a little wakeup call from Pluto: you can’t snap your fingers and get whatever you want.

If Madonna appeals (and we suspect she will), she may have better luck in May. Venus will be in full-power mode in her international sector, and it will be joined by ambitious, unstoppable Mars. She’ll have the will to fight again. However, with Mercury retrograde from May 8-31, there could still be delays, nightmarish paperwork, or hoops to jump through. Best of luck to all involved…they’ll need it.

Pluto Retrograde: Let It Go

Pluto, ruler of deep inner transformation, goes retrograde (backward) until September 11th, kicking off a period of soul-searching and closure. Pluto strips away all that no longer serves us, and the tighter we cling, the tougher it is. The current world economy is evidence: last November, Pluto entered Capricorn, which rules government, big business and hierarchies. As banks, stocks and automaking giants fell, Pluto made it that change has come.

Now that Pluto is retrograde, we must turn our attention to unfinished business. Any skeletons in the closet will tumble out to be dealt with for once and for all. Here’s a short guide to where Pluto retrograde will touch your chart. Take a close look at this area and transform your attitude, values and approach. Shed old values and habits and reinvent:

* Aries: Career, authority, fathers and men

* Taurus: Travel, study, cross-cultural relations, faith

* Gemini: Wealth, sex, marriage, death, birth, legal and property issues

* Cancer: Commitment, relationships, co-dependence, contracts

* Leo: Health, fitness, pets, community service, organization

* Virgo: Romance, pregnancy, creativity, art, drama

* Libra: Home, family, women, mothers, self-care, your foundation

* Scorpio: Communication, writing, siblings, local travel, technology

* Sagittarius: Money, self-worth, work, sensuality, daily habits and environment

* Capricorn: Self-image, assertiveness, confidence, new initiatives, appearance

* Aquarius: Spirituality, healing, sacrifice, surrendering control, hidden agnedas

* Pisces: Friendships, group activity, technology, humanitarian efforts, politics

Real Housewives’ Luann: Taurus love trouble

We were stoked when we heard the Countess reveal “I’m a Taurus” on a recent Real Housewives episode. Mystery solved! Now, we’re sending her a starry sympathy note (she is the doyenne of etiquette, after all). This week, news broke that Luann’s husband has been creepin’ around with other women. Not exactly royal behavior, Count.

The culprit? Several planets, actually. The Sun, Mercury and a retrograde Venus are all touring Aries—Luann’s twelfth house of hidden enemies, secrets and trouble. The twelfth house brings all the creepy-crawly sleaze out into the open. With messenger Mercury here, a headline-making expose was inevitable.  To top it off, Saturn has been retrograde (backward) in Luann’s fifth house of passion all year. We’ll bet her own mojo has been at an all-time low. Poor Luann.

By June, she could have the last laugh. Saturn ends its retrograde on May 16th, so the Countess could actually find a new hot, high-society beau. Or, being the loyal Taurus that she is, she and the Count may work things out—but not without some raging anger first. Our advice: keep writing that book, Luann. Lucky Jupiter is in Taurus’s career sector all year, and her book deal (with our former literary agent David Vigliano!) could give her life more purpose than this marriage scandal.

P.S. If anyone hears of Kelly Bensimon’s birthday, we’d love to explore her cosmic clash with Scorpio Bethenny. Can’t we all just get along?

Leos: Tough week in reality TV

This week, reality TV sent two Leos packing. On Dancing with the Stars, Leo Steve Wozniak got the boot (along with Capricorn Holly Madison on this week’s double elimination). And on American Idol, it was Leo Megan Joy whose lackluster Bob Marley rendition failed to earn her a judge’s save.

So where did it all go wrong? This year, expansive Jupiter is in Leos’ seventh house of partnership, teaching this independent sign how to play well with others. The bold, bossy Lion must learn to follow instead of lead—no easy feat. Dancing with a skilled partner must have been a real challenge for Wozniak (along with Leo Belinda Carlisle, who was ousted a couple weeks ago).

For Megan, whose spunk and beauty will be missed, we cite a case of Leo overconfidence. During this Jupiter cycle, Leos must set their egos aside and learn to take coaching. (Again, not easy.) Rather than heed the judges’ warnings that she picked the wrong songs, Megan clung to her Leo pride, insisting that her “fans” would vote for her anyway. Yes, Leo is a born star (hello, Madonna), but until the recording deal is signed…well, don’t bank on those fans just yet. Still, we bet the world hasn’t seen the last of Megan. Our advice: eat a little humble pie, then try acting lessons and modeling.
